Yard Jockey/Distribution Center Operator (First Shift)

Responsibilities

Safely operate an automatic transmission semi-tractor (yard truck) to perform container and trailer movements within the yard of the facility and between facilities
Deliver and pick up shipments at local vendors
Operate a forklift and/or a vertical lift to perform general warehouse duties such as loading and unloading finished goods to and from containers, trailers and racked locations
Use RF Scanner to accurately document product movement to ensure inventory accuracy
Perform final review on all shipments and orders prior to loading to ensure they are accurate and meet the expectations of the customers
Apply proper shipping labels and additional banding/packaging as required before product is loaded onto trailers/containers
Assist in manual loading and unloading of trailers/containers
Promptly notify management of any damaged or mislabeled product, freight or equipment
Conduct physical warehouse inventory as needed
Switch out containers and trailers in a safe and timely manner so as not to disrupt the effectiveness of the warehouse
Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping company equipment clean and aisles/ walkways clear at all times
Assist with the physical inventory and effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and management in evaluating the materials systems
Comply with appropriate transportation, safety organizations, Pride safety guidelines and report any safety related incident and/or potential safety hazard to management
Provide back-up assistance in other areas, including receiving and or as directed
Maintain load manifests/barcodes and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries/pick ups
Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
Comply with appropriate safety guidelines and report any safety related incident and/or potential safety hazard to management
Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Required

Must be a team player, friendly, detail-oriented, and honest
Must have the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
Must be flexible with working hours based upon business needs
Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 80 lbs
Must be able to work in a Warehouse environment that has moderate forklift traffic, and is cool in the winter and hot in the summer
Must be able to work extended hours, including weekends, as business needs dictate
Must have the ability to obtain and retain a DOT physical card
Must have a relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
Must have a willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work procedures
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
At least 1 year utilizing a semi-tractor (yard truck) to transport trailers
At least 1 year of powered industrial truck operation experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
High School Diploma or GED
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future

Preferred

Basic working knowledge of warehousing/distribution standard concepts, practices, and procedures preferred
At least 1 year of transportation and logistics experience preferred
At least 1 year of experience using RF scanners to properly and accurately document materials or products and printing of labels preferred
At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
At least 3 years of on-road and/or yard jockey CDL experience preferred
Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
