Responsibilities

Lead the design of steel connections for building and infrastructure applications
Independently develop new steel connections from concept to completion
Review, check, and correct steel design, shop, and fabrication drawings
Coordinate technical design efforts with external subcontractors and fabricators
Perform and validate engineering calculations using sound judgment and best practices
Collaborate with internal teams to align engineering, fabrication, and installation needs
Maintain documentation to support code compliance and QA/QC requirements
Support R&D initiatives for new FRP and steel products
Travel occasionally to job sites or partner facilities (up to 10%)
Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and teamwork

Required

Lead the design of steel connections for building and infrastructure applications
Independently develop new steel connections from concept to completion

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
7+ years of experience in structural or civil engineering design

Preferred

Extensive experience in steel design and steel connection design
Proven ability to develop steel connections independently
Strong background reviewing and correcting detailed steel drawings
Experience coordinating with fabricators and subcontractors
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (any U.S. state required)
Proficiency in AutoCAD (structural software experience a plus)
Working knowledge of IBC, ACI, AISC, and related building codes
Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills
