WeVote is a volunteer-powered, nonpartisan nonprofit that leverages technology to help voters make informed decisions. The Recruiting Intern will gain hands-on experience in recruiting, interviewing, and talent operations while helping to find passionate volunteers to enhance voter accessibility.

Responsibilities
"Fly on the wall" sessions observing experienced recruiters
Learning our ATS (Applicant Tracking System) and tools
Understanding WeVote's mission and volunteer roles
Screening applications and resumes (with coaching)
Conducting video interviews with potential volunteers
Partnering with our team to create new volunteer opportunities
Helping candidates understand how they can contribute
Suggesting improvements to make our process more welcoming
Using professional recruiting software and video conferencing
Learning to assess candidates with different backgrounds fairly
Understanding how mission-driven organizations attract talent
Practicing written and verbal communication in professional settings
Qualification
Required
Students (high school or college) interested in HR and recruiting as potential career paths
Students (high school or college) interested in nonprofit work and volunteer organizing
Students (high school or college) interested in learning how technology can strengthen democracy
Have done any volunteering (school, community, religious organizations)
Grew up in a family or community that valued giving back
Are curious about what makes people want to contribute their time
Want hands-on experience in a professional environment
Can commit 5-6 hours weekly with Wednesday 4 PM PT availability
Are located in the US and are comfortable working remotely
