Project Accountant
Responsibilities
Process and submit certified payroll for prevailing‑wage projects using required agency or contractor systems
Manage accounts payable, including invoice coding, vendor reconciliation, and timely payment processing
Maintain accurate job‑cost records, including labor, equipment, purchase orders, and project schedules
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation to support audits and month‑end close
Ensure full compliance with prevailing wage requirements and collect certified payroll documentation from subcontractors
Qualification
Required
At least two years of payroll and accounts payable experience
Experience in construction accounting with hands-on certified payroll and prevailing-wage reporting
Strong accounts payable background, including invoice processing and vendor communication
Proficiency with accounting and payroll software such as QuickBooks, Paychex, or LCP tracker
Ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial documentation
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to partner with project managers and field teams
