ECA Postdoctoral Fellow – Hall D
Jefferson Lab is a leading research facility focused on solving complex scientific challenges. They are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to study novel AI/ML techniques for hadron spectroscopy and contribute to the development of amplitude analysis tools for the GlueX collaboration.

Responsibilities
Contribute to the physics output of the Hall D experiments and the GlueX collaboration in particular. Carry out the analysis of the data aiming at delivering publishable results
Explore and develop scientific directions and methods within the research project "Advanced methods for hybrid meson search". In particular, use artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for amplitude analysis to tackle challenges in model selection and fit stability
Contribute to the development and documentation of new amplitude analysis tools, which can be used by the GlueX collaboration. Evaluate their performance on heterogeneous hardware (CPU, GPU)
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in an appropriate area of experimental nuclear physics
Ability to communicate clearly in writing (e.g. email, memos, explanations, drawings) and explain work to his/her supervisor and others in the group
Ability to interact well with work group
Can represent work associated with specific projects at professional meetings

Preferred
Recognized research program in experimental nuclear and/or hadron physics that overlaps with the JLab scientific program upon hire
Experience with AI/ML techniques and data analysis
Experience in hadron spectroscopy using amplitude analysis
