Responsibilities

Lead and supervise program staff while also providing coaching and mentorship to support professional growth and leadership development, all while fostering a culture of collaboration, empathy, and mutual accountability
Model emotional intelligence and assertive communication in all interactions
Conduct regular team check-ins and performance reviews that encourage growth, reflection, and learning
Identify leadership potential among staff and create opportunities for advancement
Promote healthy communication and conflict resolution practices across teams
Onboard and support new program administrators and staff as part of a positive and structured entry process
Work with the Executive Director to ensure that program strategies align with Centro’s mission and strategic plan
Collaborate across departments to promote synergy, innovation, and shared accountability
Strengthen communication and collaboration between program, development, and finance teams
Strengthen Centro’s visibility and credibility in the community by communicating program successes, needs, and outcomes
Participate in community forums, coalitions, and external meetings to advance Centro’s mission and strategic priorities
Advocate for and promote Centro’s programs internally and externally
Lead the documentation, integration, and continuous improvement of cross-departmental systems, platforms, and workflows to reduce duplication, improve data flow, and strengthen organizational efficiency
Partner with department leaders to ensure effective use of core platforms (e.g., Casebook, Transparent Classroom, QuickBooks, Paylocity, CRM systems), including identifying training needs and opportunities for automation
Partner with the Development Director to align income and grant strategies with programmatic priorities
Partner with the Finance Director to oversee organizational grant budgets, ensuring accurate allocations, compliance, and fiscal integrity
Participate in financial forecasting, budget planning, and quarterly reviews to assess progress and make data-informed decisions
Support program leaders in understanding financial data and grant compliance requirements
Use financial insights and performance data to inform strategy and promote sustainability
Strengthen organizational control measures for grant tracking, reporting timelines, and internal information flow to ensure accuracy, transparency, and shared accountability across programs, development, and finance
Support the development and use of standardized tools or dashboards that allow leadership to monitor grant status, obligations, and impact in real time
Ensure that programs deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with funder requirements and community needs
Support departments in defining measurable goals, objectives, and indicators of success
Develop and implement evaluation systems to monitor impact and continuous improvement
Facilitate regular reflection and learning sessions across departments
Guide all departments in articulating and documenting clear program mission statements, vision, target populations, and intended outcomes, ensuring alignment with Centro’s organizational strategy
Support the creation of shared reference materials (e.g., presentations or strategy briefs) that consolidate program strategy and impact for internal alignment and external communication
Strengthen impact measurement systems, including tracking participation, outcomes, and demand (such as waitlists), to inform strategic planning, funding decisions, and sustainability modeling
Develop and implement strategies to assess and strengthen staff skills and professional growth
Develop and implement professional development opportunities to strengthen the skills of their direct reports, while guiding and supporting them in creating and facilitating similar opportunities for the broader programming team
Promote a culture of feedback, transparency, and continuous improvement
Model empathy, adaptability, and clarity in all interactions with staff and community members
Support the development and implementation of role competencies and performance expectations that provide staff with clarity, guidance, and consistency across programs
Partner with Human Resources to distinguish clearly between policies and processes and to ensure staff understand expectations and accountability structures

Required

Bachelor's degree required and master's degree preferred in Education, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field
Minimum of three years of leadership experience in nonprofit or community-based organizations
Demonstrated success leading teams with emotional intelligence, mentorship, and clear communication
Strong ability to collaborate across departments and build cross-functional partnerships
Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and grant management
Demonstrated experience building or strengthening systems, workflows, and cross-departmental processes in growing organizations
Ability to translate strategy into practical tools, documentation, and shared frameworks that support clarity, accountability, and sustainability
Comfort working in environments where systems are evolving and priorities require adaptability and sound judgment
Strong strategic thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience working with Latine families and a deep understanding of immigrant and intergenerational dynamics
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Spanish and English
Ability to use data and evaluation tools to assess program effectiveness
Experience using program data, participation metrics, and demand indicators (e.g., waitlists) to inform strategic planning and funding decisions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data systems such as QuickBooks, Salesforce, or Apricot
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Position is subject to a background check and requires a valid Minnesota driver's license
