Project Engineer (K-12)
Cumming Group is one of the fastest-growing project and cost management consultancies in the United States. They are seeking a Project Engineer to support project administration for their K-12 Project Portfolio, coordinating documents, assisting with project controls, and ensuring compliance with project plans.
Construction
Responsibilities
Assist the top Project Manager on site in the formulation of the design, bid, and Project phase scheduling of the assigned project(s)
Provide update/status reporting for work in progress, including costs and schedules
Assist in the Addenda and Bid process
Administer Project sub-contracts
Under the supervision of Project Manager(s), facilitate job site meetings and prepare meeting minutes
Maintain accurate records
Under the supervision of Project Manager(s), conduct close-out activities and assist with building occupancy
Assist the project management team with various parts of the project, such as constructability review, value engineering, pay app reviews, schedule development, FF&E program development, and execution
Assist in formulating the design, bid, and project phase of scheduling
Assist in the Addenda and Bid process
Under the supervision of Project Manager, conduct pre-bid and job start meetings
Monitor contract compliance and report concerns to the Project Manager
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, facilitate job site meetings and prepare meeting minutes
Oversee approvals from applicable government agencies that are received and documented
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, conduct close-out activities and assist with building occupancy
Prepares field reporting for review by the Project Manager
Perform the QA/QC process
Review change orders for completeness and conformance to company and client standards
Review RFIs/Submittals for completeness before distribution to the design team
Provide basic CPM scheduling and budget management
Review and maintain As-Built drawings
Qualification
Required
Experience with design & bid formulation and project phase scheduling
Experience with the Addenda and Bid process
Ability to facilitate site meetings and prepare meeting minutes
Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to the company
Demonstrate an understanding of how project documentation impacts the project flow
Ability to read blueprints
Utilize effective written and oral communication skills
Understand how your role contributes to the organization's goals
Deliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values
Hold self accountable to individual and team goals
Consistently communicate and collaborate with team members and clients

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related field, a combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree
2+ years of experience in project-based construction
