Director of Finance And Human Resources

Beyond Celiac is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented director of finance & human resources, who will oversee all financial operations and human resource matters. The person in this role will ensure financial integrity, maintain compliance with nonprofit regulations, and support leadership in strategic decision-making.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Manage cash flow, forecasting, and investments. Lead budgeting and financial planning, monitoring progress and keeping leadership and the Board Finance committee informed of financial status
Analyze and present accurate financial reports on a weekly and monthly basis
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process ensuring all regulatory filings (e.g., IRS Form 990) are completed accurately and on time
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax preparation, ensuring compliance and nonprofit accounting standards
Ensure the organization’s HR practices comply with all applicable federal and state labor laws and regulations
Manage the administration of employee benefits and compensation, including open enrollment and ongoing benefits program review, ensuring a competitive package
Oversee management of operational areas such as incoming mail, IT and contracts, ensuring efficient and effective systems and processes are in place

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit environment
Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management, reporting, and compliance
Experience overseeing HR functions
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with complex financial information for non-financial staff and board members
Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to respond quickly with good judgment
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Ability to be a team player
