Responsibilities
The postdoc will primarily focus on modeling compound flood events under climate change and sea level rise in coastal watersheds via hydrodynamic models
Given that my team works closely with various institutes (academic, government agencies, national labs etc.), there will be several opportunities for collaboration
The selected candidate will present the findings in peer-reviewed articles and conferences
It is also expected that the postdoc contributes to student mentoring and assist in writing research grants
Qualification
Required
A doctoral degree in engineering (civil, agricultural, water resources or environmental), sciences (hydrology, environmental, geographical or Earth) or any closely related field
Understanding of physical processes related to compound floods in coastal watersheds under climate change and sea level rise
Strong computer programming (R, MATLAB or Python) as well as analytical and quantitative skills
Hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling as well as stochastic, statistical, time series and geospatial analyses
Independency, communication, presentation (oral and written), fast learning and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
