Responsibilities
Perform a variety of duties both independently and as a supervisor of the team to conduct the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) survey program and support OEWS staff including the supervision of all team members, data preparation, collection, editing, and reporting requirements as defined in the Bureau of Labor Statistics Cooperative Agreement
Monitor OEWS program performance metrics, nurture incumbent and new staff in continuous process improvements, assign survey workloads, and support line-level work by assisting with data collection, entry, and review
Coordinate and communicate with the regional office on matters related to the OEWS Work Statements found in the BLS Cooperative Agreement
Take lead in the address refinement process for each OEWS sample survey and delegate as necessary
Conduct a comprehensive review of the completed responded surveys alongside the OEWS team
Make decisions on the correctness and completeness of the data submitted and make follow-up contacts to acquire missing information and/or clarify incorrect data
Partake in the non-response follow-up process alongside the OEWS team
Conduct a quality assurance process upon the closing of each OEWS panel to uncover possible errors in the reported data
Review all preliminary and final OEWS estimates and provide any corrections or suppressions to the regional and national office in accordance with the required estimation schedules
Supervise, coach, and mentor subordinate all staff in the OEWS Program
Manage the day to day report tracking, incoming schedule distribution, MSA team call/schedule focus, weekly QA edit focus, data imports, and interim/final reporting edits and file assignments
Recruit new team employees on an as-needed basis
Qualification
Required
2+ Years of experience in a Supervisor/Manager Role (Focus on Data Collection/Analyst preferred)
Experience with Data Collection Programs
Preferred
2+ Years using Microsoft Excel
Experience with Statistical Review
Database Analyst Experience
