The Actuarial Intern will assist in data analysis to identify trends and support the actuarial and analytics staff with various projects, leveraging new technology to generate insights.

Responsibilities

Analysis that identifies trends between member groups and across variables

Assist in data aggregation for pricing analyses

Create reports for underwriting and other departments using UE’s enterprise data warehouse

Analyze loss and premium trends to understand loss ratio drivers

Support ad hoc data analysis and provide other support to actuarial and analytics staff as needed

Required

Undergraduate rising junior/senior or graduate student who is seeking a degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, data science, or other analytical areas

Proficiency in MS Office products, especially Excel

Professional, confident, and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills, and a cooperative attitude with staff

Good organizational and time management skills
