COMPUTER SCIENTIST

The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency is seeking a Computer Scientist to contribute to the mission of ensuring successful operations through innovative applications and data solutions. Responsibilities

Engages the client on routine to complex issues to ensure their needs and those of the organization are met
Anticipates problems and obstacles associated with moderately complex projects and proactively develop creative solutions to address them prior to implementation
Designs solutions that address the complex, sensitive, and multi-faceted issues, thereby maximizing organizational impact
Applies decision making techniques in complex situations to include anticipating and recognizing best practices and choosing options to maximize benefits to the office, directorate, or Agency
Develops innovative, cost effective solutions to address difficult, sensitive or complex issues
Define, designs, develops, test, and implements innovative applications, systems, data solutions and other capabilities for OIG stakeholders and partners utilizing platforms such as Python, Microsoft Power BI/Apps, and AI leading technologies
Builds, refines, and executes analytic designs, dashboards, and visualization for complex problems that directly support OIG mission requirements
Ability to document processes and cross-train team members while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on tool development and selection to advance OIG's strategic goals and objectives, including AI and related leading technologies

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus
All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science

Designs solutions that address the complex, sensitive, and multi-faceted issues, thereby maximizing organizational impact

Builds, refines, and executes analytic designs, dashboards, and visualization for complex problems that directly support OIG mission requirements. Strong SQL coding and dashboard development skills are desirable
Ability to document processes and cross-train team members while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on tool development and selection to advance OIG's strategic goals and objectives, including AI and related leading technologies
