ThunderSoft is focused on export compliance and is seeking an Export Compliance Specialist to support enterprise-wide classification initiatives. This role involves classifying products and technology for compliance with U.S. and global export regulations while collaborating with various teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform export classifications for products, software, and technology throughout the product lifecycle

Review and interpret U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and other global export control regimes

Partner with Engineering and Program teams to assess technical product characteristics

Support compliance reviews for export, re-export, and technology transfer activities

Maintain export classification data, metrics, analytics, and management reporting

Use trade compliance tools and systems to support screening and documentation

Provide guidance to internal teams, suppliers, partners, and customers on export requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Business, IT, or related field)

Hands-on experience with U.S. export controls (EAR); familiarity with Wassenaar and non-U.S. regimes

Strong knowledge of export classification concepts (ECCNs, CCATS, encryption, technology controls)

Experience working with complex, technical products and cross-functional teams

Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred

Background in semiconductors, telecommunications, cryptography, or information security

Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Salesforce, and trade compliance tools
