Responsibilities

Record a variety of monthly journal entries and review trial balances in the general ledger system

Prepare various reports, schedules, and financial statements for use by management

Maintain up to date documentation of processes and tasks

Prepare and assist with analysis of statutory and GAAP financial statements

Develop basic understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting guidance for insurance industry

Compose analytical schedules and gather information for independent auditors

Perform a variety of routine, clerical type accounting activities in support of the department

Participate in process improvement activities

Special projects as requested

Qualification

Required

Entering at least 2nd year of higher education pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field

Effective verbal/written communication skills

Good time management and prioritization skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Able to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
