Manager, Accounting

Nucleus RadioPharma is seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Manager, Accounting to join their growing Finance team. The role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, and maintaining compliance with US GAAP while driving process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Oversee the integrity of the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies
Serve as a technical accounting resource; research and draft memos on complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and inventory costing)
Partner with the manufacturing and supply chain teams to oversee inventory accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and physical inventory counts for radioactive and non-radioactive materials
Design, implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies to mitigate risk and ensure SOX-readiness as the company scales
Manage the relationship with external auditors, leading the preparation of schedules and documentation for annual audits and tax filings
Manage the capitalization of fixed assets and construction-in-progress (CIP) tracking, particularly supporting capital projects at our expansion sites in MN, PA, and AZ
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and optimize ERP system utilization (NetSuite) to drive efficiency
Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration
Work closely with FP&A and business leaders to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA certification required (Active or Inactive status accepted)
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting principles
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros)
Proven ability to work in a dynamic, startup-like environment with changing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Passion for the Nucleus RadioPharma mission to ensure cancer patients have access to life-saving treatments

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Experience in Public Accounting (Big 4 or regional) is highly preferred
Experience in a manufacturing, CDMO, or life sciences environment is strongly preferred
