Environment, Health and Safety Manager
SAVI EHS is seeking a qualified Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to serve as the on-site safety representative for the General Contractor on a data center construction project in Herndon, VA. The role requires a seasoned construction safety professional who can independently manage site safety operations and partner with project leadership to maintain a safe, compliant job site.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary EHS representative for the General Contractor on site
Implement and enforce project-specific safety plans, AHAs/JHAs, and client requirements
Perform daily site inspections, audits, and safety observations
Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure
Lead incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations with root cause analysis
Interface with project management, subcontractors, owners’ representatives, and regulatory agencies
Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
Monitor safety trends, metrics, and compliance documentation
Support high-risk activities including cranes, rigging, MEWPs, excavation, electrical safety, and LOTO
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of construction safety experience, representing a General Contractor
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards
OSHA 30 required (OSHA 510 preferred)
Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor safety compliance
Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work full-time on site in Herndon, VA
Preferred
BCSP certification preferred: CHST, ASP, or CSP
Experience on data center or mission-critical construction projects
Experience supporting large-scale, high-risk construction environments
Familiarity with safety management platforms (iAuditor, Procore, Predictive Solutions, etc.)
