ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR I (SUPERVISOR)
The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) for their Accounting Services Branch in Sacramento County. The role involves overseeing financial reconciliations, posting journal entries, and preparing Year-End Financial Statements to ensure reliable accounting services.

Qualification
Required
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment

If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position
Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board
Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency
Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter

All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position

Preferred
Experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, and fiscal management
Experience in overseeing accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing financial activities
Experience in managing or leading a team
Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards, including Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), State Administrative Manual (SAM), Uniform Code Manual (UCM), and Government Code
Strong collaboration and clear communication abilities across internal teams and external control agencies and auditors
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, variances, and problem areas in accounting and financial operations for improvement and implement solutions
Strong organization and time management skills
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Access, Teams, Power BI, etc.) and automated accounting systems
