Workforce Development Specialist II (FFTL)

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is dedicated to preparing its workforce for the future through the Education and Labor Cabinet. The Workforce Development Specialist II (FFTL) will provide one-on-one assistance to eligible veterans, assess their needs, and develop outreach plans to support disabled veterans in securing employment.

Responsibilities

Provides one-on-one assistance to eligible veterans who have requested services
Interviews eligible veterans and performs assessments to determine eligibility and employment and training needs
Modifies employment plans as needed for successful outcomes
Refers customers to career center partners and supportive services
Develops outreach plan that locates and identifies disabled veterans with special employment needs through contacts and interactions with homeless shelters, community, and government agencies
Plans coverage of satellite offices within region to ensure disabled veterans are offered assistance

Required

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
One year of experience in reviewing, monitoring, determining eligibility for, and/or administering employment service or unemployment insurance programs, or experience in education, public administration, business, human services, military, human resources or a related field
A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience
Work experience in workforce programs such as WIOA, employment services, and/or unemployment insurance programs or experience in education, public administration, business, human services, military, human resources or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
Due to federal funding requirements, only those with military experience will be considered

Preferred

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Military experience
