Responsibilities
Responsible for receiving, inspecting, accessioning, archiving, retrieving, labelling, packaging and shipping of human biological samples and maintaining accurate LIMS records
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing the intake, inspection, registration, quality control, archiving, and retrieval of human biological samples to ensure compliance and data integrity
Assist with managing, and maintenance of equipment to ensure performance meeting quality standards of the sample bank
Comply with applicable standards and best practices, such as CLIA, CAP, GCP, GLP, GDPR, HIPAA, Common Rule, HTA, etc
Ensure the maintenance, accuracy and quality control of electronic patient and sample data files, as well as departmental records and reports, to meet regulatory and compliance standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Note: this position requires you to participate in an 24/7 on-call rotation for responding to temperature excursions and/or equipment failures
Qualification
Required
One to two years of work experience in tissue collection and processing environment or closely related experience
Must be results oriented, and highly organized, checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness, with the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize and multi-task
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data entry required. Knowledge of data analysis and data management required
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related fields and broad understanding of pharmaceutical industry and the drug development process
Proven ability to adapt and perform effectively in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment
Previous experience with sample management, particularly in a large sample bank with experience using Lab Information Management System (LIMS)
