The University of Vermont is seeking a Senior Contract Analyst to oversee procurement contracts and serve as a liaison between departments. The role involves managing contract reviews, ensuring compliance with policies, and enhancing contract management processes.

Responsibilities

Responsibility as a contract analyst for operational aspects of procurement contracts

Serve as a liaison between Purchasing Services and University departments

Ensure emerging requests are identified, appropriate documentation included, prioritized, reviewed, and resolved in a thorough and timely manner

Manage workload with all activities related to the reviewing of procurement contracts

Ensure all legal protections and terms and conditions are reviewed per policy and meeting instructed compliance protocols

Oversee and manage the current contract management software platform

Onboarding/training, standardizing workflow, continuous improvement for building best practices, and recommending strategic initiatives to enhance processes

Expected to be completely familiar with all aspects of contracting, legal review, and provide excellent internal and external customer service

Expected to possess a moderate understanding of contract compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and University policies/procedures

Manage the status of all contracts that require review while meeting multiple deadlines

Attending meetings and responding to unique stakeholders’ needs

Work with the Director of Purchasing to take the lead on short and long-term projects, specialized strategic initiatives and/or leadership skills

Prepare Board of Trustees documents

Participate in RFP’s and other special projects as assigned

Maintain close relationships with the Office of Compliance and the Office of General Counsel

Required

Bachelor's degree

Four to five years of relevant experience in contract review or contract management in higher education

Knowledge and understanding of contract compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and legal language terms

Ability to manage workload, set priorities, and meet required deadlines

Experience with a variety of software platforms, such as word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe applications and contract management software

Effective communication skills, verbal and written

Strong analytical skills for problem resolution and complex contract analysis

Ability to interact with many levels of staff, senior management and external suppliers professionally

Preferred

Law Degree/J.D. or paralegal certification highly desirable and 10+ years of experience

Knowledge and understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act and accessibility, information security and data integration issues, data privacy and security laws and regulations highly desirable
