Air Traffic Control Radar System Test Engineering
Crown Innovations, Inc. is seeking Air Traffic Control Radar Engineers and Technicians with experience in digital Primary Airport Surveillance Radar Systems. The role involves overseeing the integration and testing of radar systems to ensure compliance with performance specifications and regulatory standards.
Air TransportationGovernmentService Industry
Responsibilities
The Test Engineer (TE) oversees the integration and testing of radar systems at the site, ensuring compliance with performance specifications and regulatory standards
The Non-Cooperative System Radar (Primary) and Cooperative System Radar (Secondary) systems will be optimized to meet Air Traffic coverage requirements whereby an optimization report that identifies all site adaptable parameters and their optimized values will be provided that performs analysis of the system performance coverage for all air traffic requirements
The Site TE lead will coordinate all phases of the implementation of the RSR with the designated FAA site and facility personnel during the optimization to minimize the impact on day-to-day operations at the designated site
Interpret radar data to identify potential threats or operational issues and ensures radar systems function properly and accurately. Evaluate target accuracy for both fixed and moving targets is critical for ensuring safe separation and operational efficiency often using Flight Check aircraft or other targets of opportunity, to verify both video and fixed map accuracy
The Site TE will conduct a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) that includes an end-to-end solution verification test to validate the RSR installation, operation and performance
At the completion of optimization, the site optimization TE will provide a COTS System Optimization Manual to familiarize FAA support personnel with adaptable parameters and their uses and limitations to affect systems performance after installation of the new service along with any Red-Lined Drawing prepared
Optimization and equipment training will be provided to familiarize each TE assigned to support the integration of the new radar systems into the NAS
