Responsibilities

Act as Owner’s Technical Representative from project concept through construction and sustainment
Witness signing and sealing of construction documents as required
Provide engineering guidance based on established design standards and technical guidelines
Manage the design and development of contract documents using internal and external engineering resources
Coordinate design activities, monitor field installations, and ensure compliance with specifications and codes
Develop concept designs and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
Review drawings, calculations, and specifications for technical accuracy and code compliance
Conduct site visits to resolve design or construction issues and minimize schedule impacts
Enforce engineering best practices, standards, and compliance requirements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain design standards and specifications
Assist project and design managers in resolving compliance issues and validating installed systems
Establish clear communication, expectations, and alignment to support successful project execution

Required

Current, valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or 17 years of relevant experience
Eight (8) or more years of electrical engineering experience with emphasis on design, calculations, and construction support
Proven experience supporting commercial and industrial electrical engineering projects
In-depth knowledge of the California Electrical Code, IEEE standards, and Title 24 Energy Codes
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and lighting design tools
Strong collaboration and cross-functional teamwork skills
Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications
Hands-on experience conducting site visits and resolving field-related issues
Solid understanding of electrical safety principles and engineering best practices

Preferred

Experience with regulated or standards-driven capital programs (e.g., infrastructure renewal, facilities engineering initiatives)
Familiarity with project management processes and contract document development
Ability to develop and review concept designs and RFP packages
Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
Experience working in large campus, institutional, or complex facility environments
