Assistant Controller
Subsea Environmental Services is a global leader in the recovery and recycling of out-of-service submarine cables. They are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented junior controller to join their finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close process
Monitor cash management, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
Collaborate with operations team to analyze voyage budgets, material yields, and costs
Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital
Help develop and track budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
Assist with external audits and provide required documentation
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
Improve internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting or finance experience, exposure to project based accounting, inventory management a plus
Strong understanding of US GAAP
Proficiency in Excel, experience in accounting software (NetSuite) a plus
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred
CPA or MBA a plus
Exposure to project based accounting, inventory management a plus
Experience in accounting software (NetSuite) a plus
