Legacy Farmer is a growing, mission-driven software company building financial tools for farmers. They are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of their AWS infrastructure and enhance their Terraform-based setup, focusing on security, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve our AWS infrastructure, with a focus on security, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
Take over and extend an existing Terraform codebase (cleanup, refactoring, and completion as needed)
Design and implement logging, monitoring, and observability systems
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), including automated testing and deployments
Improve production readiness: alerting, dashboards, error tracking, and incident response foundations
Partner with software engineers to support deployments and production debugging (infra-first, not app-heavy)
Help guide the company toward bank-level security and compliance readiness
Share knowledge and collaborate openly — we value teaching and learning across the team

Required

Senior-level experience with AWS in production
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform
Experience owning infrastructure end-to-end (not just maintaining someone else's setup)
Solid understanding of security best practices for cloud environments handling financial data
Comfort being the primary DevOps authority while collaborating with a small engineering team
Pragmatic mindset — you know when to improve things and when not to over-engineer

Preferred

Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, etc.)
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, financial data security)
General software engineering background
