NYU School of Professional Studies is seeking a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Financial Planning and Chair of the Finance and Taxation Department. The Chair will oversee the department, coordinate graduate and continuing education portfolios, and teach within the Financial Planning graduate program while engaging with external stakeholders to enhance student learning and career opportunities.

Responsibilities

Oversee the Finance and Taxation department and participate in setting the strategic direction for the vertical and coordinate graduate and continuing education portfolios

Establish academic partnerships with external stakeholders, oversee a portfolio of tax conferences and events that include industry professionals to enhance student learning and/or career opportunities, participate in fundraising efforts and securing scholarships

Teach within the Financial Planning graduate program

Collaborate with the Assistant Dean; supervise the faculty and administrative teams of the department; and oversee all administration of departmental academic operations including course scheduling and syllabi management

Required

Advanced academic credentials (Ph.D., or other advanced terminal degree)

CFP® certification

Minimum of five years of substantial direct experience relevant to the position

Expertise and familiarity with the fields of financial planning and taxation

Professional or administrative experience who can oversee academic content and delivery in alignment with current industry needs and emerging trends in the field

Experience working with a wide range of professionals

Experience or evidence of the potential for success in teaching a broad population of students, including first generation students and international students

At least three years of prior teaching experience
