Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Forward Programs

General Motors is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their innovative team at the Lockport location. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing new and refurbished equipment for various manufacturing processes supporting the production of heat exchangers.

Responsibilities

New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, equipment design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
Design, develop, and implement equipment for automated machinery, robotics, and other manufacturing processes
Managing deliveries to program timing milestones
Conduct plant modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and efficiency
Perform Troubleshooting Hardware and software issues to ensure system reliability and uptime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept to production
Write SOR's for new equipment, monitor supplier progress, perform runoff at suppliers and Lockport. Complete all necessary tasks required before handoff of equipment to focus factory
Periodic off shift & weekend work will be required

Required

Bachelor's in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience
4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
Excellent Troubleshooting Hardware and software skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Occasional off shift work will be required to support production
Overtime as needed to meet project timelines & start / debug support

Preferred

Proficiency in plant modeling and analysis techniques
Knowledge of Industrial Cameras (Cognex, Keyence, Matrox…)
Experience with Fanuc robotics
Extensive experience with Simulation tools and techniques
Strong background in manufacturing of heat exchangers - condensers, radiators, ATOC's, LTR's etc
Master's degree in manufacturing engineering
