Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable backend and/or frontend systems
Build APIs, microservices, and integrations that support health insurance benefits workflows
Implement robust, secure solutions aligned with healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.)
Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability in a cloud-native environment
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions
Work closely with product management, data engineering, QA, and UX teams to build & ship high-impact features
Contribute to the evolution of engineering standards, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines
Translate complex health benefits requirements into elegant technical solutions
Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve system quality, and enhance user experience
Support migration efforts, modernization, and the adoption of new technologies where appropriate
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3 to 4 years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment
Mandatory experience building cloud-native solutions using React/Next.js, Django Framework, GraphQL
Experience building cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP
Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
Strong proficiency with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go)
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
Strong understanding of secure coding practices and data privacy
Preferred
Experience in the health insurance, healthcare tech, or benefits management sector
Familiarity with data standards such as EDI 834/837, FHIR, or claims processing workflows
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience working on distributed systems or high-availability platforms
Exposure to AI-powered or analytics-driven product features
