Responsibilities
Operates and services heavy and light-duty equipment for the year-round maintenance of state highways and airports, including snow removal, grading, and material hauling
Maintains vegetation, signs, bridges, culverts, drainage structures, bike paths, and road surfaces within the State Right-of-Way
Performs traffic control duties such as flagging and may serve as a lead, completing daily entries in the Maintenance Management System (MMS)
Conducts equipment upkeep, welding, cutting, and general maintenance tasks as needed
Operates various specialized equipment including graders, loaders, dozers, dump trucks, snow blowers, semi-trucks, and steam boilers for maintenance and repair operations
Qualification
Required
A Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required at time of hire
Must successfully obtain N-Tanker and Hazmat endorsements within 90 days of hire
Must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures
Must provide a current copy of your CDL with endorsements at the time of interview
Must register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse prior to performing safety-sensitive duties
Must provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382
