Responsibilities

Support daily operations of manufacturing plants, buildings, and office areas under the direction of the Facilities Director and Facilities Supervisor
Install, relocate, and remove production equipment using rigging, forklifts, pallet jacks, equipment skates, and similar tools
Connect equipment to facility utilities including water, coolant, compressed air, vacuum, and wastewater drainage
Maintain and repair building systems and components including doors, turnstiles, plumbing fixtures, leaks, locks, stairs, racking, guardrails, monitors/TVs, wastewater pumps, and related infrastructure
Relocate office furniture and equipment; install or remove cubicles, signage, shelving, worktables, and filing cabinets as needed
Serve as the first line of response to facility and production support issues prior to engaging external contractors for major system repairs (e.g., air compressors, vacuum pumps, furnaces, chillers, RODI systems, nitrogen systems)
Technician is not expected to perform major equipment repairs but must understand system operation and provide temporary solutions and guidance
Conduct daily facility and property inspections to identify safety concerns and take immediate corrective action
Perform a broad range of skilled maintenance tasks over extended periods
Complete work in compliance with OSHA regulations and safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures
Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints
Contribute to team development and share technical knowledge to support continuous improvement within the facilities maintenance group
Fill in for janitor/custodial functions, when necessary
Source parts for repairs and regular maintenance
Coordinate with external service providers for equipment and facilities repair, when required
Timely Corrective Action response and resolution to relevant situations
Engage and support companywide Safety and Cleanliness Programs
As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices
Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned

Required

A minimum of 7 years of Maintenance Experience. Including methods, practices and equipment used in facilities management and activities, including a variety of building trades work
High School Graduate required. College or Trade School preferred
Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, Electro-Mechanical and equipment training, a plus
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in building maintenance, reconstruction and repair work
Strong analytical skills
Task oriented excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load
Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, self-motivated, creative and innovative
Versatile 'jack-of-all-trades' maintenance skill set
Plumbing experience required, primarily PVC socket weld and occasional threaded pipe
General mechanical aptitude
General construction knowledge (e.g., wall repair, painting)
Willingness to assist with custodial/housekeeping duties when janitorial support is unavailable
Must be able to lift 70 lbs
Must be able to sustain physical work for 8+ hours on a standard 3 shift operation or 12+ hours per day on 24/7 operation

Preferred

College or Trade School preferred
Experience with a virtual work order and spare parts management system preferred
HVAC experience strongly preferred
