Quality Engineer 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

Support mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing
Perform program quality planning
Analyze program QA requirements
Develop inspection/test procedures and process plans
Finalize source inspection checklist
Coordinate review nonconformance documentation
Support root cause/corrective action
Review AS9102 FAI documentation
Work with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies
Collection and reporting of Quality Metrics
Review and approve new drawings
Support project managers during design, manufacturing readiness reviews, PDR, CDR, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA
Conduct supplier surveillance audits

Required

Candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree and 4-8 years of experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control
Candidates must be proficient in GD&T per ASMEY14.5-2009
Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective action
Must have experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation associated with AS9100
Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation
Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) is preferred
Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
Must be a US citizen possess and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Candidates must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the area. Relocation Assistance is not offered for this role
This role will be designated for 2nd shift

Preferred

Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
Working knowledge of CNC Machining & Inspection
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Experience in developing PFMEA and RCCA
