Responsibilities

Performs a range of mechanical/civil engineering design, development, analysis, or review tasks independently

Provides facility engineering design drawings, statement of work bid packages, and detailed project cost estimates

Acts as a lead on complex tasks and is responsible for AutoCAD design drawings, conducts thorough scope of work analyses, and provides detailed design reviews

Generates complete design specifications for complex projects

Completes design calculations for civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc

Understands the construction process and provides construction management services

Ensures compliance with established standards, methods, and techniques within the discipline

Provides technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements

Establishes and maintains a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory

Conducts site visits, experimental investigations, and analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendations

Creates as-built drawings

Coordinates contractor on-site visits

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field

Bachelor's degree in a technical field; Vocational/ Technical school or Associate's degree

Must have five (5) years of job-related experience in facilities engineering or a related field and design

Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs

Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to a nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract
