Teaching Faculty I, 9 Month Salaried (Human Development and Family Science) - Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
Florida State University is seeking a non-tenure track Teaching Faculty member in the Department of Human Development and Family Science. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, delivering content in various instructional formats, and supporting departmental and university service needs.

Responsibilities
Teach a variety of courses offered by the Department of Human Development and Family Science for both undergraduate and graduate students
Deliver human development, family science, and life span content to students in the Department using quality instructional methods in traditional and on-line, and hybrid formats
Develop and refine alternative instructional methods as needed or required
Teach four courses in each of the fall and spring semesters
Support the service needs of the Department, the College, and the University
Support and contribute to the By-laws of the Department, the College, and the University
Work with faculty leaders and University partners to promote coherence across programs for pursuing common priorities based on Departmental priorities
Foster and maintain a supportive and safe environment of respect, civility, and collegiality for all faculty, staff, and students in the Department
Collaborate and support Centers and Institutes in the Department and to expand the research agenda of those entities and those of the College and the University. Those include the Family Institute, the Center for Couples and Family Therapy, and The Center on Better Health and Life for Underserved Populations in the Department
Support positive relationships within the Department and the College that leads to the advanced standing of the University domestically and internationally
Qualification
Required
Earned doctorate in a relevant area of study (e.g., family studies/science, human development, sociology, psychology, and statistics), academic credentials eligible for faculty appointment as a Specialized Teaching Faculty I
Evidence of teaching excellence at the college level
Preferred
Ability to teach a variety of courses in human development and family science
Ability to successfully teach in traditional, online, and hybrid modes
Demonstrated experience and success working with different populations and subgroups
Experience in building and maintaining positive relationships within the Department, the College, the University, and with external partners
