United Protective Technologies is seeking an Engineering Technician to support their research and development projects. The role involves conducting laboratory testing, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting with the assembly of mechanical and electrical systems under supervision.

Responsibilities

Conducting laboratory testing as required
Testing hardware and systems
Troubleshooting system issues and assisting with data acquisition and interpretation
Generating data for reports
Assisting with the assembly of our mechanical and electrical systems
Work under the supervision and guidance of our Program Managers, Engineers, and Research Scientists
Work with other areas of the organization to ensure quality standards, safety regulations, and customer service needs are met
Other duties as assigned and required to complete the R&D projects
Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards
Physical job duties : lifting parts (solo lift 50lbs, team lift 50+ lbs.), bending, moving throughout all areas of UPT

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must possess technical analytical thinking and detail-oriented skill set
Must be able to work under minimal supervision
Experience with test and measurement
Experience working with scientific laboratory equipment
Computer Competency (Word, Excel, MS Office, and Teams)
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills
Experience troubleshooting systems
Experience working as part of multifunctional teams
Must be able to pass a medical evaluation for a respiratory fit test (occasionally wearing a ½ face respiratory mask for certain projects)
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
High School Diploma/Equivalent
Associates of Science in related field or equivalent experience
1-3 years of experience

Preferred

Experience with electronics and machine tools
Ability to get a DOD Security Clearance
Experience with tribological testing and analysis
Knowledge of advanced nanocomposite coating person with military experience in a technical capacity are encouraged to apply
