Qualification
Required
Applicant must have a minimum of seven (7) years of paid, professional-level graphic design experience. This experience must be documented and available for our team to verify. Applicants with 10+ years of experience will be given first consideration
PDDG works in a fully virtual environment, meaning all team members work remotely. Applicant must be able and comfortable working from their own home. There will be occasional virtual meetings with other members of the team as we work hard to build a supportive, collaborative work environment for all team members
Applicant must have strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant design tools in the Adobe Creative Suite
Applicant must have proven experience designing, building, launching, and maintaining WordPress websites, as well as demonstrated expertise in responsive web design across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
Applicant must have a working knowledge of on-page SEO fundamentals (metadata, heading structure, image optimization) and experience integrating third-party tools such as Google Analytics, maps, and marketing platforms
Applicant must have strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Applicant must already own or be willing to purchase a home workstation setup with either a Mac laptop or desktop environment with sufficient operating RAM, HD space, and software (Adobe CC and Microsoft Office) that is fully functional and not in need of any repairs, upgrades, or other concerns that may interfere with performance of graphic design tasks. We will not consider a PC workstation for this role. A high-speed internet connection is also highly desirable
Your portfolio must include work completed solely by you. We will not consider graphic design work completed as part of educational coursework, deliverables where you worked as part of a team to solicit ideas but did not physically perform the graphic design tasks, etc. We want to see graphic design work you developed start to finish. Samples must include logos, print collateral (annual reports, brochures, catalogs, flyers, signage, etc.), digital (banner ads, display ads, animation, etc.), and websites (URLs)
You must have excellent communications skills, including strong ability to articulate designs, respond to art director and project manager feedback, and can interact seamlessly with all members of the team
You must have incredible attention to detail and be comfortable asking for clarification when art direction and/or edit requests are unclear. This includes paying very close attention to edits/markups and returning error-free proofs to our project management team
You must have strong time management skills and be very comfortable working within sometimes aggressive deadlines. We will not sacrifice quality, but there are many times when simple layout edits and/or small design tasks will need to be turned quickly and with extreme accuracy
You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment but also perform well when a lighter workload affords you the opportunity to brainstorm, conduct research, and conceptualize high-level design solutions
Although you may be geographically based anywhere in the US, we ask that the bulk of your working hours fall between 9:00 am - 6:00 pm in your local time zone (PT, MT, CT, ET)
Preferred
Working knowledge of designing in Canva is also desirable but not required
Bonus points for working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and similar languages
