Accounting Assistant (AP Payment Operations)
Trident Consulting is a premier IT staffing firm providing high-impact workforce solutions to Fortune 500 and mid-market clients. The Accounting Assistant will support the Accounts Payable and General Ledger functions within the AP Payment Operations team, requiring attention to detail and proficiency in accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
Prepare payments accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with payment terms and agreements
Maintain and manage documentation related to vendor master data governance
Handle checks requiring special processing and coordinate with internal clients for pickup
Perform general accounting duties, including monthly journal entries
Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
Assist with miscellaneous projects and Direct Claim payment support tasks
Qualification
Required
Minimum 1+ year of experience in Accounts Payable support and general ledger reconciliation
Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in data entry
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Basic knowledge of accounting principles, company policies, and accounting systems
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Preferred
3–4 years of progressively responsible general accounting work preferred
