Part-Time CI/CD Engineer

ECM Tek, LLC is seeking an experienced CI/CD Engineer to join their growing DevOps team on a part-time basis. In this role, the engineer will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient software delivery.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for automated builds, testing, and deployments
Integrate source code management with Bitbucket Cloud, including configuring webhooks, branch strategies, and pipeline triggers for seamless code pulls and merges
Implement and manage security scanning using Snyk to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in dependencies, containers, and code directly within the CI/CD pipelines
Configure Slack integrations for real-time pipeline notifications, build status updates, deployment alerts, and team collaboration on failures or approvals
Manage and optimize Linux-based environments, primarily Ubuntu servers, for development, staging, and production
Configure and administer application servers (WildFly) and web servers/reverse proxies (Nginx) as part of deployment workflows
Ensure seamless integration and deployment of backend services built with Java Spring and frontend applications developed in React
Implement comprehensive automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using JUnit and other frameworks
Use API testing tools such as Apidog to validate RESTful services and integrations during pipeline execution
Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, and implement improvements to reduce build times and increase reliability
Collaborate with developers to integrate security scans, code quality checks, and artifact management into pipelines
Document processes, create runbooks, and provide guidance on CI/CD best practices

Required

3+ years of professional experience in CI/CD engineering or DevOps roles
Proven expertise with Jenkins (Groovy pipelines, Jenkinsfile, shared libraries, plugins)
Experience integrating Jenkins pipelines with Bitbucket Cloud (repositories, pull requests, pipelines API, webhooks)
Hands-on experience with Snyk for vulnerability scanning and integration into CI/CD workflows (e.g., Snyk CLI, Jenkins plugin, or pipeline steps)
Proficiency in setting up and managing Slack integrations (e.g., Slack Notification Plugin for Jenkins, webhooks for custom alerts)
Strong proficiency in Ubuntu Linux administration, scripting (Bash/Shell), and server configuration
Hands-on experience deploying and managing WildFly application servers in production environments
Solid knowledge of Nginx configuration, load balancing, SSL termination, and reverse proxy setups
Experience supporting applications built with Java Spring (Spring Boot preferred) and React-based frontends
Proficiency in API testing tools, specifically Apidog, for automated API validation
Strong unit testing experience with JUnit, including integration with CI pipelines

Preferred

Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus
Experience with other version control systems (Git), artifact repositories (Nexus/Artifactory), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is highly desirable
