Required

Under the close supervision of the Business Tax Administrator (BTA) I, the Tax Technician (TT) I performs the less difficult and complex technical duties and support functions for the unit
This may include, but is not limited to, applying laws, rules, and policies relating to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration's (CDTFA) programs
Performing account maintenance
Initiating contact with taxpayers
Accessing and reviewing taxpayer information
Processing lien release invoices
Managing incoming and outgoing mail, which may include handling sensitive and confidential information, including that from other agencies
Prioritizing and distributing all correspondence
Managing initial case intake and assignment control reviews
Travel may be required for up to five percent (5%) of the time for training purposes
Candidate must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Position requires employee to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background investigation
Travel is required five percent (5%) of the time
