Extension Assistant for 4-H Youth Development- Johnson County
The University of Kentucky is seeking an Extension Assistant for 4-H Youth Development in Johnson County. This role involves providing administrative support to the 4-H Youth Development program, engaging with the public, and assisting in program support, teaching, recruitment, and record keeping.
Education
Responsibilities
Providing administrative support to the 4-H Youth Development program area and the 4-H Youth Development County Agent(s)
Reporting to an Extension Agent and interacting with the general public
Assisting in Quickbooks and maintaining budget files
Promoting and organizing new 4-H clubs
Recruiting members and volunteer leaders
Providing support and guidance to existing 4-H clubs
Recruiting and working with volunteers in conducting events and activities such as group projects, 4-H achievement events, and public presentation programs
Serving all clientele
Qualification
Required
Driver's License required
Job-related travel; visiting clientele at sites throughout the county (including farms); sitting/standing/walking for long periods; handling of average-weight objects up to 50 lbs
Knowledgeable of the philosophy, goals and objectives, policies and procedures of the Cooperative Extension Service
Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Office 365, Teams, Skype for Business; Zoom; Quickbooks
State law requires a national and state criminal background check and a letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating the employee is clear to hire based on no findings of substantiated child abuse or neglect found through a background check of child abuse and neglect records as a condition of employment or involvement in this program
Preferred
Education or previous experience in working with youth
Previous experience in an administrative support role
