Director of Technology Integration and Standards
The National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced person to join their team to work with their global membership. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions while enhancing the Pallet Design System® and new Crate Design System through technical service and training.

Responsibilities
Serve as the main point of contact for PDS and Crate Design System customer support, addressing client needs and inquiries rapidly and effectively
Coordinate, develop, design, and instruct short courses and webinars related to Association software offerings and related technologies
Create, update, and coordinate all online training materials and educational modules for Association software offerings
Over time, act as the primary staff liaison to the NWPCA Standards Committee and actively participate or chair other industry standards bodies as required
Over time, will become the main point of contact for science and technology issues affecting the wood packaging industry
Assist the Vice President of Science & Technology in monitoring and assessing emerging topics and trends relevant to the industry and NWPCA. Identifying opportunities for AI integration in NWPCA activities to gain operational efficiency
Support the identification and pursuit of research and development opportunities, collaborating with universities and other strategic partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, wood science, packaging, or a closely related discipline
3-5 years of post-graduate professional experience
Strong ability to provide exemplary customer service in technical or scientific environments
Excellent skills in reviewing, synthesizing, and communicating scientific and technical information to diverse audiences in a clear and timely manner
Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating initiative and effective management of multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to use AI and train other users to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency
Willingness to travel (minimum 25% but can increase based on project focus), both domestic and international
Preferred
Advanced degree
Experience working with standards organizations such as ISO or ASTM
Background in supporting research projects and building relationships with universities and academic partners
Fluency in Spanish, French, or German
