Golden West Food Group is a premium full spectrum manufacturer and distributor of fine food products. They are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the transformation of their finance and accounting function, manage the general ledger team, and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close process, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed accurately

Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement variances to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP

Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package for executive leadership

Work with the Controller to identify inefficiencies in the close process and implement improvements and automation

Help develop and maintain standardized accounting policies, procedures, and robust internal controls

Support the implementation of new financial systems and technologies

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of senior and staff accountants, overseeing their day-to-day activities and professional development

Promote a culture of accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement within the general ledger function

Assist the Controller in recruiting and training new team members

Play a key role in the annual external audit, preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries

Research and document technical accounting issues as they arise

Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role

Strong leadership and team development skills with a proven ability to mentor staff

In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls

Experience managing a month-end close process from start to finish

Hands-on experience with ERP systems and implementing process improvements

Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

CPA designation

Experience in the manufacturing, CPG, or food processing industry

"Big 4" or large regional public accounting experience

Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or private equity-backed environment
