Director of Web Services
Empowered Staffing is partnered with a top-performing digital marketing agency known for delivering measurable results through paid search, paid social, Amazon marketing, and SEO. The agency is seeking a Director of Web Services to build and lead a new division focused on website development, optimization, and conversion performance.
Responsibilities
Lead website development and optimization projects for small to mid-sized business clients, ensuring performance, usability, and design excellence
Design and build new websites and landing pages from concept through launch using platforms like WordPress, Shopify, and Magento
Execute front-end development tasks using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other modern frameworks or tools as needed
Implement conversion rate optimization (CRO) and UX strategies, including A/B testing, performance tracking, and user behavior analysis to improve engagement and conversion
Optimize websites for SEO, speed, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility, implementing on-page updates and SEO recommendations from internal strategists
Collaborate with internal teams, including design, SEO, and paid media, to ensure cohesive, high-impact campaigns across channels
Act as a client-facing expert, confidently presenting technical solutions, test results, and strategic recommendations in meetings and pitches
Develop scalable workflows and best practices for the Web Services division to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability
Oversee project delivery and division performance, managing timelines, budgets, and outcomes while identifying opportunities for service growth
Hire, mentor, and lead a small cross-functional team of developers and optimization specialists as the division scales
Qualification
Required
7+ years of web development experience, ideally with experience working on multiple clients in an agency setting
Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and experience working within WordPress, Shopify, and Magento platforms
Deep understanding of UX/UI design principles and conversion rate optimization (CRO) tactics
Ability to communicate confidently with clients and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to launch, lead, and scale a new service division
Foundational knowledge of SEO implementation fundamentals and best practices
Preferred
Familiarity with GA4, web performance tools, and testing platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Google Optimize)
