Gabes is seeking a Production Manager to provide leadership and support to the facility VP/Director, focusing on enhancing product processing and operational excellence. The role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance, and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Facility VP/Director to execute actions needed to enhance or improve production process

Provide actionable recommendations related to distribution cost and benefit analysis

Effectively communicate information and analysis on findings of distribution centers with team members

Directly manage the day-to-day work of various associates within the DC

Ensures execution of processing and ticketing functions according to company practices

Prepare weekly and monthly reports

Monitors, and measures area performance and productivity goals of the team; hit all productivity measurements of units per hour

Models all appropriate behaviors and takes ownership of problem resolution

Accountable for meeting the DC compliance and audit requirements for their department

Hires, trains, and leads retention for crew members

Completes new hire orientation and training for Production Department crew members

Models the open-door policy and fosters an environment of open and honest communication

Assesses Production Supervisor(s) performance and delivers performance reviews

Keeps Facility Director informed of issues leading to start of corrective action

Motivates team through recognition as well as understanding the diversity of their team

Partners with DC leadership team to minimize turnover by identifying key people issues in their departments

Addresses poor performance or policy violations in direct reports and crew members including coaching and counseling up to termination

Maintains personnel files and office organization

Participates in walk through of departments with Facility Director to identify strengths and opportunities

Assesses training and growth opportunities in Production Department; creates a development plan for team

Monitors, maintains, and follows company policies and procedures

Required

A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required

Demonstrated knowledge of distribution center operations supported by three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, professional, or operational experience within a distribution center environment

Strong proficiency in inventory management systems and warehouse management systems (WMS), with the ability to apply operational best practices, manage end-to-end workflows, identify and implement process improvement opportunities, and drive operational performance

Proven leadership capability, with prior supervisory or people-management experience required, including the ability to motivate teams to achieve productivity, accuracy, and service level objectives

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered

Knowledge of Distribution Center operating procedures and inventory control methods, and general familiarity of associated company products

Ability to understand computer applications that drive DC functions and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Knowledge of computer systems and ability access screens, print documents, analyze data in relationship to merchandise handling and inventory tasks

Ability to use reports to determine the cause of delays, difficulties, or errors, and use the information and data to drive situations

Broad knowledge of Distribution Center operations (i.e. receiving, storage, put-away, picking, shipping, and inventory management)

Ability to lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders, and platforms; twist, turn and bend

Ability to sit/stand on material handling equipment for extended periods

Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including but not limited to day, afternoon, evening, or occasional weekends

Ability to effectively communicate and lead the work of multiple associates
