Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

Accurately perform hardness and other tests and record results as required
Performs calibration of all testing equipment accurately and on schedule
Performs audits, weekly probes, surveys, etc., as needed or defined by procedure and/or schedule
May be required to complete conformance certificates and/or other related paperwork
Meet all specification requirements per BQS
Report any deviation, problem, or irregularity to the supervisor or management immediately
Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping
Perform other tasks as designated by the position
This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage
Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism

Required

This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or permanent resident cardholders
Education – High school diploma or equivalent
Must have the ability to develop a working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology
Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, is required
Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical
Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism
Must be able to work in a sitting and standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment
Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions
Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc
Ability to hear in person and via phone

Preferred

Minimum one year in the heat treating industry or related field preferred, but not required
Experience reading/interpreting blueprints/specifications preferred, but not required
