The UTS- Temporary Electronics Specialist will provide intermediate level skills in Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical systems to support the Cogeneration Facility and Manning Drive Steam Plant at UNC Chapel Hill.

Responsibilities

Provides an intermediate level skill set in Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (IC&E)
Works independently on less complicated equipment and systems or with minimal instruction and direction from Supervisor and/or advanced level technicians
Supports the Cogeneration Facility and Manning Drive Steam Plant, which operate 24/7/365 to meet the demands and maintain reliability of the University campus and UNC Hospitals
Corrects events that jeopardize the facility’s capacity to produce steam and electricity immediately
Develops, modifies, and implements daily reports on the DCS
Becomes conversant with the EPA and DAQ regulatory requirements as they pertain to the CEMS

Required

Associate's degree in electronics; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
Experience in repair and maintenance of a variety of electrical/electronic equipment or systems

Preferred

This position provides an intermediate skill set in the electrical, instrumentation and control circuitry on equipment and systems
