Responsibilities

Educate, connect, and empower international and U.S. leaders and security practitioners on Arctic security and defense challenges and opportunities
Make positive contributions to a collegial, team-centric working environment based on the core values of transparency, and mutual respect
Create and present executive education content that spurs discussion, reflection, and learning among program participants
Facilitate objective-based discussions among fellows that encourage consolidation of learning and critical reasoning
Contribute to distinguished visitor engagements with subject matter expertise
Perform various administrative and institutional duties to support the executive education functions of the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies
Develop, manage, coordinate, conduct, and assess all aspects of academic engagements, including on-line and in-person courses, workshops, and partnerships

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
This is not a drug tested position
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status
Incumbent must attain DoD Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) Certification and complete related continuous learning requirements
Must obtain/maintain Non-critical Sensitive-Secret security clearance
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the AD-05 grade level in the Federal service: Proven ability teaching and seminar facilitation at the postsecondary level
Proven expert experience developing and delivering course curriculum
General understanding of U.S. National Security
Expert knowledge of the Arctic and its complexities including history, geography, environment, politics, economics, population, demographics, and culture
Ability to collaborate with peers, leadership, and subordinates
Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position
Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above

One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study
If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university
