Senior Property Accountant

Bridger Properties is searching for a Senior Property Accountant that will be assigned to a prominent portfolio in Atlanta, GA. The role involves overseeing the accounting functions for the assigned portfolio while providing comprehensive financial support to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Oversee the full-cycle accounting process for an assigned portfolio
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and support schedules
Act as the primary accounting liaison between property managers and clients to build a collaborative relationship amongst all parties
Calculate and post journal entries for recurring and non-recurring expense accruals
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Update Balance Sheet Reconciliations on a periodic basis for reporting and audit purposes
Review and analyze the general ledger to ensure records are kept in compliance with GAAP (or another specified hybrid basis of accounting)
Provide general support for the accounting and property management teams
Code and review invoices in accordance with property budgets and company policies
Prepare and post tenant billings in accounting software
Review incoming tenant payments and post receipts in accounting software
Work with property management teams to prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Lead accounting and finance projects as needed, often involving cross-functional teams
Abstract tenant leasing and complete property configuration requests in accounting software

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
3+ years of accounting experience with commercial real estate experience preferred, but not required
Understanding of real estate accounting principles, property management operations, and lease accounting
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of staff, senior management, and external clients
Advanced computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas)
Extensive experience with property management accounting software; Yardi experience is a significant plus
Demonstrated consistency in values, principles, and work ethic, upholding the highest standards of integrity
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial outputs
