Responsibilities
Hands-on role, owning day-to-day accounting and financial operations
Partnering closely with the CFO on forecasting, budgeting, cash flow
Leading a small accounting team and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting
Owning monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-paced environment
Reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
Managing monthly reporting and data submissions to parent company
Ensure SOX compliance and internal controls
Oversee ASC 606 revenue recognition in a project-based services model
Delivering clean financial statements and ad hoc analysis
Overseeing project-based billing and revenue recognition
Ensuring revenue is supported by SOWs, POs, and time tracking
Maintaining strong AR discipline and cash conversion, owning short-term cash flow visibility
Providing financial insights and analysis to leadership
Serving as primary liaison with corporate finance for AP and payroll
Reviewing expense recognition and period accuracy
Coordinating timely payments and resolving AP-related issues
Owning and optimizing accounting systems
Driving continuous improvement in systems, workflows, and data integrity
Leverage technology to increase efficiency and transparency
Partnering cross-functionally with operations, revenue, and executive leadership
Qualification
Required
6+ years of professional accounting experience
Experience in agency, creative services, consulting, or professional services
Strong working knowledge of ASC 606
Experience working within or supporting a public company environment
Technically savvy and systems-oriented
ERP and project accounting systems, strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
Preferred
Maconomy experience is preferred
