Statistician Lead

Responsibilities
Providing guidance on study design issues
Writing, testing, and implementing programs using statistical software to clean, manage, merge, and analyze large, complex datasets
Implementing methods to ensure data quality, rigor, and reproducibility of results
Independently conducting appropriate data management and analysis
Conducting computer programming as needed for completion of other tasks
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation of data management and analysis files
Summarizing, interpreting, and presenting results in written, tabular, and visual formats
Assisting in the writing and reviewing of statistical methods in manuscripts and grant proposals
Preparing annotated statistical code and maintaining technical documentation of data and analysis files for manuscript development and submission
Participating as a team member in discussions on data collection, management, and analysis
Performing power calculations and estimating sample size
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or PhD in data science, statistics, biostatistics, health services research, public health, public or health policy, informatics, or a related field focused on data analysis
5 or more years of experience performing and interpreting descriptive statistics and regression analysis
Proven ability to write clear and concise analytical documentation, summaries of various methodologies, and descriptions of statistical results, as well as create charts, tables, and other visual aids
Consistently detail-oriented
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Flexibility and ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple teams and individuals
Preferred
Experience collaborating with principal investigators in co-developing research questions and implementing data analysis for major research projects using large survey or administrative datasets
Experience with complex data structures and linkages between data sources
Extensive experience with statistical programming, preferably in Stata, R, and/or SAS
Ability to prioritize, organize, and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time
Ability to quickly learn, clean, and analyze new datasets
Training or experience in quasi-experimental or econometric methods, such as difference-in-differences analyses, regression discontinuity, or synthetic control analyses
