Responsibilities

Define and document project scope and objectives through collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, and the PMO

Conduct independent research and fact-finding to understand requirements and estimate project effort, timelines, and costs

Assess hardware, software, and licensing needs and support customers in developing project budgets

Discuss return on investment (ROI) and expected benefits where appropriate

Ensure formal acceptance of project scope and confirm alignment with stated goals

Partner with users to validate that proposed technology solutions meet business needs

Elicit and document requirements using interviews, workshops, site visits, surveys, workflow analysis, and use cases

Analyze and reconcile inputs from multiple sources, distinguishing true business needs from stated requests

Develop project artifacts including functional requirements, business requirements documents, use cases, and interface designs

Utilize enterprise requirements management methodologies and tools

Challenge assumptions and support business units in defining realistic execution plans

Manage all phases of the project life cycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure

Develop project charters and obtain sponsor approval

Lead internal teams, consultants, and vendors through solution validation, implementation, and go-live activities

Build and manage detailed project schedules, establish baselines, and track critical path milestones

Coordinate dependencies across multiple initiatives and workstreams

Track and report project status, risks, issues, and performance metrics

Ensure quality management through review of deliverables against approved requirements

Manage multiple concurrent projects effectively

Develop and execute project communication plans

Prepare and deliver project presentations and status updates to diverse audiences

Serve as the primary liaison between sponsors, IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors

Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent communication regarding project health and progress

Support budget planning by providing cost estimates for hardware, software, and services

Assist with requests for proposals and vendor cost comparisons

Ensure project costs are tracked, allocated, and billed appropriately

Stay current on industry trends, standards, and best practices related to project management and technology

Maintain project management certification through continuing education and professional activities

Participate in professional project management organizations

Research, recommend, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO

Contribute expertise to internal process improvement efforts and task forces

Adopt and promote new PMO processes and standards

Manage and maintain project documentation, repositories, training materials, and operational procedures

Respond to work-related communications in a timely manner

Complete required annual training and certifications as applicable
