Fire Alarm Service Technician

Fortis Fire & Safety is a nationwide provider of fire protection and security services. They are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician responsible for troubleshooting low voltage Fire Alarm and Security Systems, with a focus on fire alarm systems and occasional exposure to CCTV and Access controls.

Responsibilities

Service of Fire Alarm and associated systems
Occasional installations as needed
Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections
Communicate with customer before and after any call to explain work performed
Ensure timely job completion
Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job
Participate in “on-call rotation”
May mentor Fire and/or Security technicians on tools and technology

Required

Minimum of 3 years of field experience in repair and installation of fire alarm systems
Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes
Ability to read blueprints
Proficient in the use of computers and smart phones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
High level of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills required
Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision
Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record

Preferred

Experience in other low voltage systems such as CCTV & Access Control
Fire Alarm Panel Programming experience
Experience working with Fire-Lite and Notifier brands of equipment
Field certifications a plus (NICET, FASA/BASA)
